FIXED LINKS 3*2*1 REPLACEMENT -Is Life Spinning Too Fast?

Hey Reader,

Does life seem to be spinning faster and faster?

Even now as I am about to publish this email. I am thinking how everything is just almost too much. For nearly 3 years I have published the 3*2*1 Email on Tuesday. (3 Scriptures / 2 Quotes / 1 Thought from me). This week that ended. And I am sending this email instead. More changes are coming as I am going into a season of prayer and seeking and honing in on my purpose. I hope you will hang around and see where the Lord leads me.

Years are flying by. As I have looked at some back to school pictures of friends children. Friends… actually my friends children’s these “friends” I knew when they were pre-school and now they have Littles that and even they are no longer littles. One starts the first year of High School and another the the last year of Junior High. Where did time go?

Spinning and spinning goes the hand on the clock. We have breakfast, get ready for work or school or the many task on the “to do” list. That list seems to have had vitamins and is growing. Dizzy is what life has become like a child on a merry-go-round that someone is pushing really fast.

And yet, we are only a blimp on the radar screen of eternity.

When we are so focused on our daily, hourly task we are missing the real purpose of life on Earth at this time.

God has a purpose for every season. We have to keep our focus in the right place to keep our balance. When we keep our balance in the spinning of life we can focus on the purpose God has for us.

But first

We must see Jesus.

When a ballerina is spinning and dancing she has a spot she focuses on so that she does not become dizzy and fall down. We need to make Jesus our Spot to focus on.

Hebrews 12:1-2 Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, 2 looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God

We have a race to run with our eyes on Jesus.

The Race of Life and at the end there is a prize, actually there are rewards. But what we are look at today is “not falling down” as we run.

In verse 2 of Hebrews chapter 12 says to keep our eyes on Jesus the author and finisher of our faith.

First, we must digest verse one where it says “let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us”.

Those pesky weights and potholes

The ones that tangle our feet, like unforgiveness or anger. You will need to ask the Lord which one He wants you to work on. There are many snares that the enemy has put out there to be potholes to trip us up.

Then the process to identify them and deal with them. Not to merely cover them up with positive words and scriptures. But to name the issue (outloud and if outloud is not possible write it down even if you shred the paper afterwards) then find the scripture that will over come the issue and ask the Holy Spirit to help you over come and remove the “issue” that was identified as the “weight and sin that is tripping you up”.

He is faithful.

Keep your eyes on Jesus. Remember we live in Eternity not just today or this year but our life will go on and on. Where will depend on you?

I was told of a dream a friend had. It was in heaven and there were soldiers on horses bringing tribute to Jesus. It was like a parade where they were walking toward the throne of God and there were crowds of people along the side of the road cheering them on. Worshiping the King. Then he woke up and the Lord said to him, “Do you want to be on the horses bringing tribute or do you want to just be on the side lines cheering them on?” How we live our life determines so much.

Here is a process that may help you get rid of the “sins that ensnare us as we run our race on earth”.

Hey Reader, Trusting God for Direction When You Don’t Know What to Do If you've ever traveled with children, you’ve probably heard that question more than once. Are we there yet? How much longer? But honestly, don’t we sometimes ask God the similar questions? “Am I where I am supposed to be?”“Am I going in the right direction?”“What am I to do next?” We have dreams and places we want to go. But is that where the Lord wants us? Are we in the right job, living in the right city? Who should I...

Hey Reader, Put Feet to Your Faith: How to Be a Doer of the Word You know when you've been worrying about something for so long that you finally say, “Okay, enough thinking and fretting about this. I need to do something!” Maybe you've been praying about something, but you can’t stop feeling fretful over the situation. You've studied what God's Word says about it. You've memorized the Scripture. You've thought about it over and over, but the fretful thoughts keep coming. There comes a point...

Hey Reader, Have you ever just had so much going on that you just couldn’t do another thing and the things you were in rhythm to were totally out of sync. I remember a crazy busy season of our pastor's life that on Monday evening (after work at my full time job) I crashed on the couch and said take me away somewhere we don’t have to drive or pack up and repack. No road trip - from hotel to hotel. My next statement was something like, if I wouldn’t need a passport I’d want a cruise. My son...
